Current Projects: I. Cognitive Control Task-switching is a procedure that can hopefully help us understand aspects of cognitive control. I'm working on a project to understand what factors affect task-switching reaction time and ability to perform each task. The adult aging process may shed further insight on the processes involved in having to keep track of two task-sets (separate things to do) while switching from one to the other. Cognitive Aging Conference poster (2004). Psychonomics poster (2005). Spieler, D.H., Mayr, U., LaGrone, S. (2006). Outsourcing cognitive control to the environment: Adult age differences in the use of task cues. Psychonomic Bulletin & Review, 13, 787-793. Psychonomics poster (2007). II. Picture-Naming Gathering normative information from younger and older adults for a large set (541) of color pictures. Characteristics of picture name production may be used to understand the processes that contribute to that task. Color Pictures and Norms for Younger Adults (written, unspeeded) Color Pictures and Norms for Younger Adults (spoken with RT data) Color Pictures and Norms for Older Adults (spoken with RT data; partial data posted, the rest is coming soon) contact us for more information about using these norms Please refer to: LaGrone, S. & Spieler, D.H.
