About the Cognition & Communication Lab

The Cognition and Communication Lab is a research team at the Georgia Institute of Technology that studies basic mechanisms for how people process information. In particular, we are interested in how the aging process along with the increased knowledge and experience that comes with age influences our thought processes over the life-span.

Participation

You will need to visit us at the Georgia Institute of Technology in order to participate in our studies. Participation in our studies generally involves sessions of about 1 to 3 hours. During this time, there will be a wide range of activities. Some of the tasks are very simple, some can be quite challenging. Most individual studies address topics such as reading and reading comprehension, conversation, word retrieval, attention, and visual processing. In most cases, your participation will include several different activities that look at cognition in several different ways.

We appreciate the time you spend participating in our studies, and do our best to make your participation an enjoyable and educational experience. We also provide a small amount of monetary compensation for participation in our studies.
